VIS (Volunteers for International Service) is a non profit Non Governmental Organisation (NGO) legally active since 1986. It is recognised as qualified NGO by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs under Law 49/87, by decree no. 1988/128/005113/40 dated 22.11.1988. It is inspired by Christian values. It is part of the Salesian Society International Network, working in Italy through the CNOS (Centro Nazionale Opere Salesiane). Within the voluntary and co-operation sectors, the CNOS promoted VIS. VIS is present in Italy with its 10 Committees within the Salesian Centres in: Ancona, Torino, Milano, Genova, Napoli, Roma, Cagliari, Catania, Venezia, Verona. VIS'  projects are carried out together with the Salesian Fathers of Don Bosco, present with schools and training centres in 120 countries of the world.
