UDINE, DECEMBER 2009
Dearest friends from Cameroon,
“Bearzi” is in Udine, in the North-East of Italy. We are like a big family and students are always welcomed with joy and friendship. There are more or less 200 students in our school, divided into eight classes: two first years, three second years, and three third years.
A lot of people teach us: a whole Salesian community, some nuns “FIGLIE DI MARIA AUSILIATRICE” and several teachers. All of them support our growth according to Don Bosco’s teachings.
We want to tell you about our school day and about all the things we do together… School starts at 8:00 a.m. and finishes at 3:40 p.m. Our day starts off with a twenty-minute “BUONGIORNO” in church, that is when we pray or sing to our Lord; after that we attend our lessons. Our teachers are strict, but nice.
We have a long recess during which we can have lunch in the school canteen: we often have pasta, soup or rice, and then fish or meat with different vegetables. After lunch we can play in different tournaments organized by the school. The tournaments take place indoors or outdoors: we have a soccer pitch, a volleyball and a basketball court, and we also have a playroom.
Our school offers various extra activities: we have spiritual retreats, we prey together, we go to school trips and we celebrate special occasions with parties. We have a lot of fun here!
Studying at “Bearzi” means helping each other and helping those who are in need. We love this school, because it gives us a lot of opportunities: we can always be with our friends, we have a good time together, we learn a lot and we grow up as Christians.
We wish you a
MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR
