General context of the project
The person will support the HQ Regional team in the supervision and support of the activities put in place in INTERSOS Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region (Iraq, Lebanon, Jordan, Syria, Yemen, Libya and Iran).
The humanitarian situation in the Middle East is characterized by an unprecedented "polycrisis" involving intensifying conflict, economic disruption, and climate-induced stress. The region is currently facing its highest levels of displacement and humanitarian need in decades, with aid agencies struggling against severe funding gaps and access restrictions.
General purpose of the position
The role assists the Regional Programme and Grants Manager and Regional Programme Coordinator in the programmatic and grants oversight and support across the projects-cycle.
1. Better understanding of INTERSOS way of working, in terms of internal procedures, systems, policies, others;
2. Better understanding of humanitarian aid mechanisms;
3. Enhanced capacities in developing and monitoring humanitarian interventions, with a specific focus on the main INTERSOS donors (ECHO, UNHCR, Country-Based Pool Funds, AICS);
4. Enhanced understanding of MENA region humanitarian landscape (main actors, donors, approaches and methodologies)
Main responsibilities and tasks:

Collect and systematize data in INTERSOS Management Platform (agreements, reports, Project Appraisal Tool, locations, beneficiaries, etc.)

Systematize the drive folders at the regional level and support the missions in systematise drive folders

Support proposal development processes, carrying out desk reviews and donors’ priorities analysis, compiling annexes for proposal packages, and internal checklists.

Support revision of project reports, including internal (PAT) and external (donor) reporting tools as needed.

Produce internal documents (annual report factsheets, country analyses, regional presentations other) to be shared within the Programmes Dept or with other Depts;

Support missions-related dashboard developments and follow up

Translate when needed (English to Italian and Italian to English) key project documents

Implement any other activity, according to the work plan developed and discussed with the tutor
Required profile and experience:

Ongoing Master degree in Economics, Political Sciences, International Cooperation and Development, Social Sciences, or other relevant Master degree studies

Previous volunteering and/or internship experiences in non-profit organisations or associations will be evaluated positively.

Good analysis skills and capacity to develop complex texts

Italian and English: compulsory
